Effect of Tactile and Spacious Cognitive Task Training on Decrease of Spasticity With Hemiplegic Patient

Abstract
|

|
Objective : This study aimed to find out the effect of tactile and spacious cognitive task training the parts of cognitive therapeutic exercise to hemiplegic patient focused on decrease of spasticity.
Methods : The study was conducted with the subjects of 50-years-old male patients with hemiplegia due to the infarction on the left striatocapsular and cognitive therapeutic exercise was conducted for 60 minutes of one session each five times a week for a total of 4 weeks, from 20, July, 2010 to 29, August, 2010. The evaluation was conducted before and after the treatment, using cognitive therapeutic exercise profiles and TAS.
Results : Arm is tone assessment scale scored 36 points out of 40, and after the treatment conducted, muscle tone was down by 23.3% to 28points. Problems pointed out in the cognitive therapeutic exercise profiles including pathological characteristics and recognition aspect also showed improvements.
Conclusion : Cognitive therapeutic exercise suggests one possible way to decrease spasticity for hemipelgic
patient.
